Advanced Uro-Gynaecology assessment and management for Physiotherapists

This specialist course is a blend of theory and practice and is designed for the experience clinician in women’s health physiotherapy who wants to further develop their clinical skills.

On Completion of this course clinicians will

  • Discuss detailed anatomy and physiology of the female genito-urinary system and relate this to common conditions such as endometriois, sexual dysfunction, urinary dysfunction, interstitial cystitis, pelvic pain, vulvodynia and pelvic organ prolapse
  • Developed skills in the specialist management of the client with Sexual dysfunctions to include sensitive assessment of the associated conditions.
  • Have detailed knowledge of the management of Pelvic Organ Prolapse and the current evidence base that underpins this.
  • Develop further skills in both external and internal assessment related to the common women’s health conditions and debate when internal or external examination is appropriate
  • Be exposed to current thinking in the use of electrotherapy such as EMG & Biofeedback in assessment and management.
  • Develop expertise in the emotional cognitive & Behavioural aspects of uro-gynaecology dysfunction.
