Japan Bound and lots of Great Autumn courses
Japan Bound and lots of Great Autumn courses

Hoping you all had a great summer and that you got to take some time away from all your patients and clients as a break is important. Gerard is currently on his way to Japan having had the honour of being invited by The Japanese Physical Therapy Association to present a Men's Heath Conference with his friend and colleague Jo Millios from Perth, Western Australia. You will be able to follow it all via their twitter feeds @gerardgreenephy & @prostatejojo . It will be the 1st Men's Heatlh Physiotherapy Conference in Japan and will focus on male pelvic pain ( Gerard ) Post Prostate Rehab ( Jo ), Developing research in Men's Health  and developing a Men's health physiotherapy service in Japan. The conference will be in Kobe and will be followed up by hospital visits in Kobe and Osaka.

We are honoured to have Carina Ciracusa visit in early Autumn from USA to deliver her internationally regarded Paediatric & adolescent bowel and bladder course in Birmingham. Gerard, Jo and Carina all met up at WCPT 2017 in Cape Town where Carina delivered a focused symposium on paeds pelvic health.

Dr Ruth Jones is teaching her Introductory Pelvic floor course in mid September in Birmingham and as always it's almost fully booked with only 2 places left.

Our popular men's health course is back after a break of 2 years and we are running that with Bill Taylor and Dr Ruth Jones in November in Birmingham also. It's already half full with physios from many countries signed up. A unique course as taught by two tutors who see a lot of male pelvic health in clinic and also have strong academic backgrounds. A career shifting course.

Dynamic Tape for pregnancy , Post natal is back in October as an evening seminar in Birmingham. It's probably almost a year since we have run that as a stand alone event as we have been focused on building the clinics. We only use DT in the clinic and we are proud that we used it for a long time before putting this course together. There is nothing to compare to it on the market especially for pelvic girdle pain and host of other pregnancy and post natal presentations .

Fiona and Gerard after a summer break will be delivering their pregnancy and post natal course in November in Bham and we expect that to fill also as there are 5 people booked on despite it not being advertised yet!

Finally we end the year in London teaching a Ultrasound Imaging course for the wonderful Maria Elliot and her Mummy MOT group. We last did this for Maria in The world famous portland hospital which was a great success.

One or two other small events may slip in but otherwise we will be found working hard in our 3 busy West Midlands ( UK ) based pelvic health clinics.

Best Wishes

Gerard

Upcoming Event...
TMJ Dysfunction: Assessment, Treatment & Management: A Hybrid course

Saturday 8th June 2024

This introductory course with focus on TMJ assessment, treatment and management. All the course theory will be sent to you approx. 3 weeks before the course date and you will be able to study this in your own time (Equivalent to day 1 of the course).

Day 2 will be with Evangelos face to face in clinic where he will focus on hands on techniques and interactive discussion.

Gerard has experience of running successful strongly evaluated hybrid pelvic health courses in his Birmingham UK clinic and has known Evangelos for many years.

Why has Gerard decided to run a TMJ Course:

In both our London and Birmingham physiotherapy clinics we have found it very difficult ( near impossible ) to find a physiotherapist to come and work with us to see our patients who has TMJ expertise and experience. We have also found it very difficult to find clinicians to refer patients to. It also hasn't been easy to find a hands on face to face course for our Physios to attend and train up on. Gerard has known Evalgelos for many years from his time studying and working in Birmingham university. Evalgelos like many of the expert tutors who Gerard works with is also a #tutorwhotreats as he sees TMJ patients every day in clinic and he has a strong academic and research background and is experienced in teaching on TMJ dysfunction.

Who should attend:

This course is aimed at physiotherapists and in particular musculoskeletal, sports and pelvic health physios who want to learn more about TMJ dysfunction; sports therapists, osteopaths, chiropractors and dentists.
