8 Week Online Mindfulness course for Endometriosis/Adenomyosis with Claire Dempsey ( Coventry Uni PhD student )

Join Our Study: Testing the feasibility of an 8-week online mindfulness-based course designed to improve quality of life of people living with endometriosis and adenomyosis.

Are you over the age of 18 and have been diagnosed with endometriosis and/or adenomyosis?

Are you interested in learning how to use mindfulness practices to help you manage the psychological impact of living with the symptoms of endometriosis and/or adenomyosis?

Do you have a device that would allow you to access the online course (smartphone, laptop, computer or tablet)?

Researchers at Coventry University are looking for people living with endometriosis and/or adenomyosis to take part in a study that will evaluate the Phoenix Course, an 8-week online mindfulness-based course designed to improve the quality of life of people living with these conditions. Women living with endometriosis and adenomyosis were involved in the designing of this course.

What will the study involve?
The course will run twice, eight weeks apart. One version of the course will include facilitator and peer support, another version will be self directed. Everyone on the course will be asked to complete two surveys, before and after the course. You will be randomly assigned to one version of the course. One will begin right away and one in 8 weeks times. Everyone's data will be equally valued and analysed in order to evaluate the course. There are eight sessions, which should take no longer than 2 hours to complete. There are videos and meditations that have been specifically recorded for the course, both versions of the course will access the same content e.g. videos, exercises and meditations.

How do I join?
Step 1 - Read the information page that follows.
Step 2 - Answer the consent form questions.
Step 3 - Complete the pre-course surveys (you will be randomly assigned to a version of the course)

TMJ Dysfunction: Assessment, Treatment & Management: A Hybrid course

Saturday 8th June 2024

This introductory course with focus on TMJ assessment, treatment and management. All the course theory will be sent to you approx. 3 weeks before the course date and you will be able to study this in your own time (Equivalent to day 1 of the course).

Day 2 will be with Evangelos face to face in clinic where he will focus on hands on techniques and interactive discussion.

Gerard has experience of running successful strongly evaluated hybrid pelvic health courses in his Birmingham UK clinic and has known Evangelos for many years.

Why has Gerard decided to run a TMJ Course:

In both our London and Birmingham physiotherapy clinics we have found it very difficult ( near impossible ) to find a physiotherapist to come and work with us to see our patients who has TMJ expertise and experience. We have also found it very difficult to find clinicians to refer patients to. It also hasn't been easy to find a hands on face to face course for our Physios to attend and train up on. Gerard has known Evalgelos for many years from his time studying and working in Birmingham university. Evalgelos like many of the expert tutors who Gerard works with is also a #tutorwhotreats as he sees TMJ patients every day in clinic and he has a strong academic and research background and is experienced in teaching on TMJ dysfunction.

Who should attend:

This course is aimed at physiotherapists and in particular musculoskeletal, sports and pelvic health physios who want to learn more about TMJ dysfunction; sports therapists, osteopaths, chiropractors and dentists.
